TORMENTO (born Massimiliano Cellamaro in 1975) is one of the most versatile talents in the Italian music scene: a rapper, singer, and producer, he was among the very first artists to bring hip-hop culture to mainstream audiences in Italy through his groundbreaking group, the Sottotono. Throughout a career spanning more than thirty years of constant recording and live performances, he has balanced major mainstream successes—such as the hit single Acqua su Marte featuring J-Ax, produced by global EDM superstars Meduza—with cult-favorite underground projects, including releases under his alias Yoshi. In 2022, he published his autobiography Rapciclopedia with Baldini + Castoldi and created and hosted the Sotto Effetto Podcast. In February 2025, he joined Shablo, Gué, and Joshua on stage at the 75th Sanremo Music Festival, competing with the song La mia parola.
